The director of this movie was Oliver Parker and the main characters in it were Dorian Gray, who was the young handsome boy, Basil Hallward, who painted the portrait of Dorian, and Lord Henry, who becomes friends with Dorian and gives him his knowledge.
This movie was a remake of the book "The Picture of Dorian Gray", but there were many new things added. The main plot of the story was of a handsome young man of the name Dorian Gray who sells his soul to forever look young. When this happens Dorian starts to do bad things and his self portrait changes to look very ugly but he stays the same. As the movie progresses you see the change in Dorian and how he is led to his downfall.
I feel as if this movie had a better story then the book and the older movie made about it. I felt that the new twists put in made sense and fit the story better. The acting in this movie was not all that great and could have been very much improved. I still felt as if the storyline was good and that the changes that the director made improved the story that the book told. In the movie the director adds Lord Henry's daughter as Dorians lover and this creates a whole new conflict and spices up the story. The ending of the sotry is also changed and is made much better then what the book says happens. This movie had its basis idea off of the book but when watched it felt like its own movie.
Overall I felt that this movie had a very well written storyline and it kept me interested throughout the movie. Although, I feel that the acting was not very great and so was some of the ways things were filmed in the movie also. The production of the movie was not very great but the new created story was phenomenal and in my opinion is better than the book's story.
