Final Movie Review: Scarface

This movie was directed by Brian De Palma and is considered one of the greatest gangster movies of all time. The main characters in this movie are Tony Montana, played by Al Pacino, Manny Ribera, who is Tony's closest friend and he is played by Steven Bauer. The last character, Elvira Hancock, is Tony's wife and she is played by Michelle Pfeiffer.

The setting of this story is in Miami where Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant arrives with big dreams of becoming rich and powerful. Tony soon gets involved in the selling of Cocaine and rises up in his control of the drug cartel. Tony soon builds his own empire with people who work for him and gets married to Elvira Hancock. As tony rises he makes many enemies and he hurts friends and he gains so much power to the point where he becomes out of control and this leads him to his downfall.

This is my favorite movie of all time for many different reasons. First off, I am a huge fan of gangster movies involving the dug cartel and this is the best and one of the earliest movies of that genre. I also felt as if the acting was amazing and that Al Pacino perfectly fit the role of the ruthless gangster and he really made the character seem like he had so much power. I also felt like the storyline was great in that it showed how he had started at the very bottom and throughout the movie how he completely changes and he hits the top. Another great part to the story was how it shows that he becomes so powerful that he begins to hurt his family and friends without him knowing and his power leads to his downfall.

This is my favorite movie because it is my favorite genre of movie combined with great acting and a great storyline to make it just perfect. I feel like even for someone who doesn't like these types of movies that even they would enjoy this film. It is not only about gangsters, and drugs but it also shows how too much power can hurt one and lead to the end of them.

Entertainment: A+
